Junior League of Lake Charles Opens Applications for Fall Educator Grants

Oct 27, 2026 11:22AM ● By Kelsey Swire
The Junior League of Lake Charles, Inc. (JLLC) is excited to announce that applications are now open for its Fall 2026 educator grant opportunities. Aimed at supporting the League’s mission to help build a confident, healthy, and educated community, these grants provide funding directly to local educators and school-based professionals across Southwest Louisiana. Last year, JLLC awarded over $25,000 in grant funding to local educators to support innovative, classroom-based projects.

For the Fall 2026 cycle, school-based professionals across the five-parish region are invited to apply for two grant opportunities:
  • The Melissa Ann Cox - Taking Education and Children Higher (TEACH) Grant: Awards up to $5,000 for a single impactful project. Applications, along with electronic presentation materials, are due by November 1, 2026. JLLC will select finalists from the applicant pool, and the public will have the opportunity to vote online for the winning project from November 20 to 22.
  • Branch Out & Grow Grant: Awards up to $2,500 for innovative education-based classroom projects. Applications are due by November 7, 2026. Recipients are evaluated and selected through a review process conducted by the JLLC Community Advisory Board.

Educators and school personnel can find application details, eligibility criteria, and submission instructions on the JLLC Grants & Scholarships landing page at https://www.jllc.net/grants-and-scholarships/. Following the selection and voting processes, JLLC will issue a follow-up release to announce the grant recipients.
