2025 Mardi Gras Southwest Louisiana Schedule of Events

Mardi Gras celebrations for 2025 began in Lake Charles on January 6 with Twelfth Night and will continue through Fat Tuesday on March 4! Bring on the parades, cookoffs, themed food and drink, Mardi Gras balls and of course, King Cake.

Mardi Gras in Southwest Louisiana is family-friendly and over 60 krewes will be participating in the Mardi Gras Southwest Krewe of Krewes parade, the last event of the season.

Thursday, January 16 - March 22 - The History of Mardi Gras exhibit at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum opens

Friday, January 24 - Community Mardi Gras Dance from 6:00 pm to 8:30 PM

Saturday, February 15 - Mardi Gras Craft Workshop 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Thursday, February 27 - Courir de Mardi Gras Mask Making from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum

Friday, February 28 - Merchant's Parade at 7:00 PM

Saturday, March 1 - Children's Mardi Gras Stroll from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

-DeRidder Mardi Gras from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

- World Famous Cajun Extravaganza and Gumbo Cook-off at 11:00 AM

-Krewe of Barkus Parade at 1:00 PM
