An Exhibition by Shannon Simmons - Opening Reception

We are delighted to welcome local artist Shannon Simmons back to the Imperial Calcasieu Museum with his latest body of work, World Citizen.

This exhibition invites visitors into a world that feels mysterious, folkloric, and wonderfully imaginative. Think fairy tales with a darker edge, stories of witches and old lore, and richly layered canvases that seem to hold a story of their own.

Working in oil paint, Shannon creates evocative imagery filled with depth, atmosphere, and intricate detail. His work invites viewers to linger, look closer, and perhaps find themselves somewhere between the familiar and the fantastical.

The opening reception is free and open to the community. We invite you to join us for an evening celebrating local art and creative expression.
