CBS Sports Unveils 2024-2025 College Basketball Regular-Season Schedule
Oct 22, 2024 03:47PM ● By Kelsey SwireCBS Sports has announced its 2024-25 college basketball schedule with nearly 300 regular-season games across platforms on the CBS Television Network and Paramount+, as well as CBS Sports Network.
This year’s slate is highlighted by marquee games featuring the nation’s best teams, top conferences with an expanded slate of Big Ten and Big 12 games, nearly 30 women’s games – including the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Championship on CBS – and 15 automatic bids to the 2025 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tournaments, concluding with the Big Ten Men’s Tournament Championship for the 27th consecutive year.
Additionally, CBS Sports will broadcast the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in partnership with TNT Sports, providing exclusive live coverage of every game in its entirety across CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV. This year marks CBS Sports’ 43rd year broadcasting the Tournament, and the 13th year of the partnership.
The NCAA Men’s Final Four National Semifinals on Saturday, April 5 and National Championship on Monday, April 7 will air on CBS.
CBS & PARAMOUNT+ TO FEATURE 15 RANKED TEAMS, INCLUDING FOUR IN THE TOP 5
CBS Sports remains the home of college basketball as it enters its 44th consecutive season of coverage. This season, the CBS Television Network will broadcast 39 regular-season games, with all of them streaming live on Paramount+.
Some of this year’s highlights on CBS and Paramount+ include:
A total of 24 regular-season appearances by AP Top 25 teams, with 15 ranked schools on CBS, including four teams in the Top 5: No. 1 Kansas (two games), two-time defending National Champion and No. 3 UConn, No. 4 Houston and No. 5 Iowa State (two games).
The schedule tips off with the CBS Sports Thanksgiving Classic when Illinois meets No. 16 Arkansas on Thursday, Nov. 28 at 4:00 PM, ET at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
The CBS Sports Classic returns to Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Dec. 21 with No. 9 North Carolina facing No. 22 UCLA at 3:00 PM, ET followed by No. 23 Kentucky taking on Ohio State.
This year’s CBS slate includes more games from the Big Ten (13 conference, four non-conference and three Tournament games) and Big 12 (six games) than ever before.
CBS Sports will present two HBCU rivalry games in the CBS Sports Classic: HBCU Showcase on Saturday, Dec. 28. North Carolina A&T will host North Carolina Central at 2:00 PM, ET and Howard will visit Hampton at 4:00 PM, ET. Additionally, CBS Sports Network will televise Hampton at North Carolina A&T on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20 at 9:00 PM, ET.
CBS Sports will present 15 automatic bids to the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tournaments, including five on CBS. For the 27th time, CBS Sports will present the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament Semifinals (Saturday, March 15) and Championship (Sunday, March 16), as well as the Big Ten Women’s Basketball Championship on Sunday, March 9. The Missouri Valley Championship will be decided on Sunday, March 9 with the Mountain West Championship (Saturday, March 15) and Atlantic 10 Championship (Sunday, March 16) taking place the following weekend.
CBS SPORTS NETWORK TO FEATURE MORE THAN 250 GAMES, INCLUDING APPEARANCES BY FIVE OF THE TOP SIX TEAMS IN THE AP TOP 25
CBS Sports Network will televise more than 250 games this season, including 10 Conference Championship games.
Some of the highlights of this year’s CBS Sports Network schedule are:
Ten automatic bids to the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Tournament will be awarded, with Men’s championship games from Conference USA, Coastal Athletic Association, Patriot League and Summit League as well as Women’s championship games from the Mountain West, Coastal Athletic Association, Patriot League, C-USA, Mid-American and Summit League.
A total of 25 regular-season appearances by AP Top 25 teams, with 13 ranked schools, including five of the top six teams: No. 2 Alabama, two-time defending National Champion and No. 3 UConn (two games), No. 4 Houston, No. 5 Iowa State (two games) and No. 6 Gonzaga (three games).
As part of CBS Sports’ multi-year expanded partnership with the Big 12, CBS Sports Network will air 20 Big 12 games beginning this season. Additionally, CBS Sports Network will also present 22 Big East games.
Twenty-three different conferences will have teams appearing on CBS Sports Network, highlighted by CBS Sports’ conference partners – the Big 12, Big East, Mountain West, Atlantic 10, Patriot League, C-USA, Missouri Valley, Mid-American, West Coast Conference, Southern Conference, Coastal Athletic Association and Summit League.
CBS Sports Network will televise 28 women’s games, including two appearances by No. 2 UConn (Sunday, Feb. 9 at Providence and Thursday, Feb. 27 vs. No. 22 Creighton), No. 11 Duke at South Dakota St. on Sunday, Nov. 17, as well as Conference Tournament action from seven conferences, including six Championship games.
CBS SPORTS TO PROVIDE STUDIO COVERAGE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON
INSIDE COLLEGE BASKETBALL, CBS Sports’ pregame, halftime and postgame studio show will provide analysis, highlights, features and more throughout the season on CBS and Paramount+.
CBS Sports Network will provide studio programming all season long, including INSIDE COLLEGE BASKETBALL.
Matt Norlander and Gary Parrish will host the Eye on College Basketball podcast three days a week live on YouTube and across podcast platforms, as well as host a weekly episode on CBS Sports Network. Additionally, CBS Sports HQ will provide daily highlights, analysis, rankings, bracketology updates and more all season. CBSSports.com and 247Sports, with its network of more than 100 team sites, will provide additional men’s and women’s editorial coverage.
