Ride Towards Tomorrow 2024 - A Bryce River Foundation Bike Ride
Aug 27, 2024 09:42AM ● By Kelsey SwireThe Bryce River Foundation's very first fundraiser happened on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Crying Eagle Brewery - University. The Ride Towards Tomorrow bike ride offered a 6-mile family ride, a 27-mile course and a 50-mile option! September is suicide prevention and awareness month, and 140 cyclists showed up to kick things off by pedaling away the darkness and supporting suicide prevention.
The day was made for more than just cyclists, with a pop-up market for shopping local vendors, as well as resource tables loaded with information and help options for those in crisis. Raffle tickets were also available for prizes ranging from Bryce River Foundation merch to House of Sole gift cards.
The 6-mile family riders were the first to return and breakfast was waiting! Chic-fil-a was delivered for these riders courtesy of AutoTrader and Cox Automotive!
Crying Eagle was also open for business as usual that morning, offering their full bistro menu and bar options. In addition to hosting the ride, the brewery graciously donated 20% of beer sales back to the Bryce River Foundation!
One of the last events of the day was a loss survivor ribbon photo in the front yard of Crying Eagle. Anyone that has lost a loved one to suicide was asked to join together at a line of purple and teal memorial ribbons that were facing McNeese Street for the passing traffic to see.

About the Bryce River Foundation
The Bryce River Foundation exists to come along side mental health professionals & organizations who are providing suicide prevention training and education as well as good mental health practices and advocacy to end the stigma of mental health care.
BRF is led by a volunteer board of directors who seek to shine light into the darkness that suffocates those suffering from mental illness and suicidal thoughts. Through our fundraising efforts, we desire to combat the stigma of mental health care and to grow its availability.
