Carrying momentum from a 2023 schedule that introduced a new lead analyst and a popular player “walk-and-talk” initiative while culminating with weekend coverage of the entire FedExCup Playoffs for the very first time, CBS Sports tees off its 67th consecutive year televising the PGA TOUR this week, with multiplatform coverage airing on CBS Lake Charles and streaming live on Paramount+. Coverage kicks off with the third round of the Farmers Insurance Open on Friday, Jan. 26 (4:00-7:00 PM, Central) and final round on Saturday, Jan. 27 (3:00-7:00 PM, Central).

As the PGA TOUR returns to a calendar year schedule for the first time since 2012, eligible players this season will compete in elite-field “signature” events offering increased FedExCup points. CBS Sports will present weekend coverage for six of the eight signature events in 2024, and players not already qualified will have an opportunity to earn their way into those events through strong performances in full-field events via the “Aon Next 10” and “Aon Swing 5” series.

CBS Sports’ coverage of the West Coast Swing will feature two signature events: the newly modified AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am next Saturday, Feb. 3 (3:00-7:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, Feb. 4 (3:00-6:30 PM, ET) and The Genesis Invitational two weeks later, on Saturday, Feb. 17 (3:00-7:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, Feb. 18 (3:00-6:30 PM, ET).

Jim Nantz will anchor the Network’s coverage in 2024 beginning with the Farmers Insurance Open, which he’ll call live from the site of the AFC Championship game. Coming off his inaugural season in the role, 2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman returns as lead analyst. Ian Baker-Finch and Frank Nobilo will join Nantz and Immelman to provide analysis from the Super Tower throughout the season. Lead on-course reporter Dottie Pepper, along with Colt Knost and Mark Immelman will offer perspective from inside the ropes, and Amanda Renner will provide reports and conduct interviews. Andrew Catalon also will host select GOLF ON CBS broadcasts.

In collaboration with the PGA TOUR, CBS Sports’ live coverage in 2024 will continue to bring viewers closer to the competition and players through wide-ranging technology and broadcast enhancements, including:

  • A popularized CBS Sports-led innovation that debuted with Max Homa at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open (who went on to win), “walk-and-talk” interviews with players “mic’d up” will continue to be a regular GOLF ON CBS feature in 2024. 18 different players participated in the initiative last season.

  • An immersive “Falcon 360” (degree) camera, which will be utilized during CBS Sports’ coverage of the West Coast Swing, showcasing picturesque panoramic views of each course venue.

  • A flycam and mini flycam (or “dragonfly” camera) will be deployed at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to showcase scenic views of Stillwater Cove and along Pebble Beach’s par-4 4th and par-3 17th holes.

  • Greenside 4K bunker cameras will be embedded at The Genesis Invitational on the drivable par-4 10th hole at Riviera Country Club, offering unique views of players navigating the short, yet diabolical hole.

  • The acclaimed depth-of-field “Atlas” camera will be integrated into every broadcast in 2024, through both a handheld and mini-Steadicam showcasing players walking the course with a cinematic feel.

  • Use of PinPoint wind technology to document coastal wind conditions on the West Coast Swing.

  • Live drone and aerial coverage will provide scenic views and be complemented by a Goodyear blimp.

  • TrackMan technology and data utilizing 3D radar tracking (led by live tee shot tracing) will provide dynamic swing visual metrics such as shot apex, ball speed, distance and curvature. RF mini cameras also will offer tracking capability on approach shots from the fairway.

  • ARL Virtual Eye technology will be used to display dynamic course animations, while also incorporating TrackMan ball tracing capabilities on tee shots via an overhead slab view of the hole.

  • CBS Sports’ third round “on-course set” configuration featuring Knost and Renner will return at select events, including “the Rink” at the RBC Canadian Open being contested in Hamilton, Ontario this year – offering viewers a unique perspective during Saturday afternoon coverage.

  • Continued use of the constant leaderboard, along with the Network’s “Eye on the Course” commercial break format, allowing viewers to continue following the action.

In addition to live tournament coverage, CBS Sports will provide multi-platform, complementary golf programming throughout the season. The Network will air seven PGA TOUR specials and six Korn Ferry Tour specials, as well as 10 episodes of COURSE RECORD WITH MICHAEL BREED, along with additional golf programming throughout the season leading into live golf coverage. CBS Sports’ full programming lineup of all PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour events, as well as additional golf shows will be available to stream on Paramount+.

CBS Sports Network also will air both classic PGA TOUR telecasts each week leading up to the tournament on CBS, as well as encore GOLF ON CBS final round coverage on Monday nights.

Throughout the season, CBS Sports HQ, the 24/7 streaming sports news network, will deliver additional golf coverage with daily in-depth programming, round previews, live look-ins, recaps, highlights, advanced stats, betting advice from SportsLine’s Early Edge, and more. GOLF ON CBS announcers also will join CBS Sports HQ to provide round previews and recaps throughout the season. Coverage also will be available on CBSSports.com, the CBS Sports App and @GolfonCBS social media platforms. The First Cut podcast also will feature six episodes weekly during the season, as well as bonus episodes around breaking news and major championships.
