Students Encouraged to Apply Early for Priority Scheduling
Registration for SOWELA Technical Community College’s Summer and Fall 2026 terms opens Monday, March 30. Prospective students can enroll in any of SOWELA’s programs offered across four Southwest Louisiana locations.
SOWELA currently offers online, hybrid and in-person options depending on course availability and requirements. Its Main Campus is in Lake Charles with sites in Jennings, Oakdale and Leesville. Students are encouraged to register early for the best scheduling options, as classes tend to fill quickly. Summer courses begin on Tuesday, May 26, and Fall courses begin Monday, August 10.
New students can apply at www.sowela.edu/apply. Scholarships and financial aid are available, and students are encouraged to complete their 2026-2027 FAFSA and a SOWELA scholarship application to determine eligibility at www.sowela.edu/scholarships.
