SOWELA Offering Free Construction Training in Partnership with Venture Global

Calcasieu and Cameron Parish Residents Must Attend Informational Session to Secure Their Spots
SOWELA Technical Community College, in partnership with Venture Global, is offering Calcasieu and Cameron Parish residents free Introduction to Construction training with Forklift Certification. Interested individuals must attend the informational session to secure their training spot. In addition, individuals must have a high school diploma or GED to qualify.
The informational session will be held on Monday, July 21, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Lake Elementary School Cafeteria, 1025 Hwy. 384, Grand Lake, LA 70607.
Training is Tuesdays and Thursdays from August 26 to September 25, with classes meeting from 5 to 9 p.m. at SOWELA’s Main Campus in Lake Charles, LA. During the five-week course, eligible participants can earn up to three certifications, including Forklift, NCCER Core, and OSHA certifications.
