ABC Pregnancy Resource Center to Host Block Party for New Facility’s Grand Opening

Community Invited to Attend Free Event, including Live Music, Games for Kids, Food and More
ABC Pregnancy Resource Center will host a Grand Opening Block Party for the Lake Charles community on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 3-6 p.m. at its new location on 600 Belden St., Lake Charles, LA 70601. The event will include live music, games and bounce houses for children, free food and more.
“ABC is so excited to bring LIFE back to this area of our city and show our neighbors that we are here to bring so much more than just a free pregnancy test,” said ABC Executive Director, Becky Girola.
The ABC Block Party was purposefully slated on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend in celebration of King’s legacy of strengthening communities and living a life of service. The federal holiday observing his legacy on January 20, 2025, also marks the 30th anniversary of the National Day of Service, and service is closely tied to the mission of ABC.
The pregnancy center provides support, education, mentorship and community linkage. Free services include pregnancy testing, ultrasound, Medicaid application support, parenting classes, support groups and more.
ABC recently moved into its new location on Belden St., expanding not only its physical footprint but it’s impact on Southwest Louisiana. The new center includes a custom baby boutique for clients to shop for baby supplies free of charge and additional counseling rooms to provide clients and their advocates with a safe, calming space.

Individuals and churches came together to provide a place of compassion and care for these moms with free resources and supplies.
