“Nate Bargatze's Nashville Christmas” Airs Thursday, Dec. 19

NATE BARGATZE’S NASHVILLE CHRISTMAS one-hour holiday-themed variety show features special appearances by Mikey Day (“Saturday Night Live”), Noah Kahan, Martina McBride, Ashley Padilla (“Saturday Night Live”), Jelly Roll, Darius Rucker, Derrick Stroup, the Tennessee Titans and Carrie Underwood.


In his first primetime special, GRAMMY® nominated comedian, podcaster, director and producer Nate Bargatze will guide audiences through a mix of stand-up comedy, pre-taped comedy shorts, sketches and musical performances. Taped at Nashville’s historic Grand Ole Opry, NATE BARGATZE’S NASHVILLE CHRISTMAS will shine a spotlight on the spirit of the city during the holiday season, highlighting family, fun and feel-good moments for audiences of all ages.

The special will air on the CBS Television Network Thursday, Dec. 19 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT- 8:00 PM CT on CBS Lake Charles) and stream on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*.

Bargatze will collaborate with “Saturday Night Live’s” Mikey Day and co-head writer Streeter Seidell, who previously joined forces with Bargatze when he hosted “SNL” last season on the wildly popular “Washington’s Dream” sketch. The variety special will be executive produced by Lorne Michaels, Nate Bargatze, Erin David and Andrew Singer of Broadway Video, and Tim Sarkes & Alex Murray of Brillstein Entertainment.

Bargatze was recently signed to Universal Music Group Nashville as their flagship comedian under their new Capitol Comedy label. He also recently performed two sold out shows at The Hollywood Bowl with Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan and Sebastian Maniscalco.  

Bargatze’s comedy is both clean and relatable, evident in his 13 appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the most appearances by any comedian. He also appeared on Conan four times and has appeared on Seth Meyers and James Corden’s respective late-night shows. 

Bargatze hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in 2023, earning rave reviews and securing high ratings for the program, with Vanity Fair calling him, “A Great Saturday Night Live Host,” and Entertainment Weekly exclaiming, “A frighteningly funny Halloween episode.”
