Daytime Emmy Nominated Actress Rebecca Budig Joins “The Bold and the Beautiful” as Dr. Taylor Hayes

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2024 – Four-time Daytime Emmy® nominated actress Rebecca Budig has joined the hit CBS daytime drama THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL as Dr. Taylor Hayes. Her first appearance was today. Budig is well known to soap opera fans with her numerous roles, including Michelle Bauer in GUIDING LIGHT (1996-1998), Greenlee Smythe in “All My Children” (1998-2011) and Hayden Barnes in “General Hospital” (2014-2019). This marks a homecoming to CBS Daytime for Budig, having previously appeared on GUIDING LIGHT. 

The character of Taylor is best known for being a compassionate psychiatrist, mother to Steffy and Thomas Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and Matthew Atkinson), her on-and-off romance with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and longtime rivalry with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang). Budig previously worked with Thorsten Kaye when they both starred on “All My Children.”

In addition to her numerous daytime roles, Budig’s other credits include BLUE BLOODS, CSI, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, FIT FOR CHRISTMAS, “Castle.” “The Beast” and “Skating with the Stars.” In 2014, after the birth of her daughter, Budig was inspired to write about her experience for the short film “About a Girl,” in which she also starred. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter and two dogs.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL is broadcast on weekdays (1:30-2:00 PM, ET/12:30-1:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network. It is a Bell-Phillip Television production. Bradley Bell is the executive producer. THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL is the most-watched daily drama series in the world.
