"CyPhaCon was created by a small group of local geeks who wanted to create a genre-friendly convention for all fans while also raising money for worthy charitable causes. Planning began in August of 2010 for what would be CyPhaCon first official event in April of 2011. This crew of dedicated fans including many with previous convention experience embarked on a fast-paced blitz to introduce CyPhaCon to the masses. And in just 9 short months on April 16, 2011, CyPhaCon Officially opened with a crowd of nearly 500 for its inaugural event."
"This event has been and always will be a labor of love for those dedicated fans who put this on year after year. Additionally, CYPHACON will always be a completely volunteer-run event."
